Southend Airport continues to circle several target destinations – as easyJet flights return next week.
The airport currently offers flights to four destinations with the budget airline – Malaga, Faro, Amsterdam and Palma de Mallorca – which return in time for summer from March 29.
Alongside the new Amsterdam flights this year, easyJet has added an additional flight a week to Faro from Southend, which will see the airline’s operations at Southend increase by 30 per cent compared to last summer.
And the airport has now revealed it wants to offer even more, revealing the full list of destinations it is targeting.
The list includes Dinard and Strasbourg in France, Groningen in the Netherlands, and the highly anticipated Alicante in Spain.
Southend Airport business development director Nigel Mayes believes it’s only a matter of time until Southend gets back to its 2019 heyday.
He has previously revealed bosses are “working tirelessly” to get the successful Alicante service back into its schedules for 2023 and beyond.
He said: “This route will ensure excellent airline yields and load factors, underpinned by our low operating costs and route awareness amplification through our social media and marketing activities.”
