The Costa Blanca Tourist Board is honing its tourism strategy for the Nordic market, with a particular emphasis on hotel and golf offerings.

This campaign will be on full display at the ‘Matka Nordic Travel Fair’ in Helsinki, Finland, running from January 18 to 21.

The primary objective is to spotlight the region’s golf facilities and hotel accommodations.

The ‘Matka Nordic Travel Fair’ stands out as the most popular and successful event in the northern European tourism industry. It provides a substantial platform to showcase Alicante’s attractions and foster connections with Nordic countries, the Baltic countries, and Russia.

The fair anticipates drawing over 70,000 visitors over its four-day duration, including roughly 21,000 travel industry professionals, and receiving coverage from 1,200 media outlets.

The Nordic market encompasses Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark, and Iceland, with a collective population of over 26 million residents who embark on more than 38 million international trips annually.

During the 2022-2023 winter season, Alicante-Elche Miguel Hernández Airport offered 330 flights and nearly 60,000 seats connecting to Helsinki. This marked a remarkable 77% increase compared to the same period in the previous year.
